Newcastle local, Charlotte Poynting debuted at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on the weekend.
SEHEZ Group backed Poynting as her major sponsor in the three, six lap races of the SuperUtes Series on Friday and Saturday.
Poynting scored a seat for the SuperUtes in the Bathurst and Newcastle rounds aboard a newly-built WSM Toyota Hilux through her efforts and association with Western Sydney Motorsport, for which she drives in the Aussie Racing Cars Championships.
Poynting started eleventh in her maiden race maintaining her position to finish eleventh in both race 1 and 2.
On the second last lap of the final race on Saturday, Poynting found the tyre barrier at The Esses but went on to complete the lap and the race, finishing twelfth.
After the race Poynting took to social media to describe her experience on the track.
“Unfortunately fell victim to the mountain on the 2nd last lap after compression locking into the Esses, still managed to finish the race! Nearly got through the weekend without any scratches! At least now I’ve had the full Bathurst experience, rain, sun and walls!”
“My career to date has been an absolute blast with the whole team and there’s so much more to come!”
Ponyting will race again in the ECB SuperUtes Series when racing resumes on October 19-21, as part of the Vodafone Gold Coast 600, before coming home to compete in the Newcastle 500 on November 23-25.
SEHEZ Group will be on the sidelines along Nobby’s Road to cheer her home.
